History

Ruben ter Hofstede was born in 1982 and bought his first pair of turntables in 1996. After a year of practising he decided to participate in some dj contests. He won the dj contests and got the opportunity to perform at local clubs and festivals. In addition to live performances he made some mixtapes and was often a guest dj on local radiostations. In 1998 he performed on bigger parties in the Netherlands and started to organise parties. He prefers to spin with vinyl records but he can spin with CD, USB and laptop as well. Nowadays his gigs vary from outdoor events, business events, weddings and houseparties.

Styles

In the nineties the harder styles of house music were very popular in the Netherlands. Ruben begins his dj career with spinning house classics, early rave and happy hardcore. After 2000 he starts expanding his style with trance and techno music. He also likes to mix hip-hop, breakbeats and drum 'n bass. In 2005 he combined more influences of house music in his dj sets like progressive, latin house, jumpstyle, hard techno and darkcore. From 2010 he started playing more on commercial events, which required his music collection to expands into disco, 70's, 80's, 90's and pop music as well. These days he likes to perform both in underground music styles as well as in styles that might be more accessible to a more general audience.
